The CW is trying to corner the superhero market, and totally dominate the crossover trend. Already mixing and matching actors between Arrow and its spinoff The Flash, The CW ordered the series for its 2015-16 season, cementing the crossover utopia.
Called Legends Of Tomorrow, Rip Hunter, time traveling extraordinaire, puts together a band of super and not so superheroes (ok – villains), to save the planet in its current existence, its existence through time, and time itself.
The series, set to star Brandon Routh as The Atom (and what a joyful Atom he is!), Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Heatwave, Victor Garber as half of Firestorm (?), Caity Lotz as… not sure yet, Arthur Darvill will play Rip Hunter, and newcomer Ciarra Renee will pay the role of Hawkgirl.
Arrow and The Flash have delighted us with the crossovers throughout this season, and its become particularly numerous towards the end. Now this show, with characters plucked from the other two shows, will join the melee.
Arrow executive producers and creators, Mark Guggenheim, along with Greg Berlanti, and Andrew Kreisberg will head the series. They are also on the team developing Supergirl for CBS, also with Sarah Schechter.
